Hi Liz – Yes, the categories often fly under the radar. But, most blog software uses the categories in various places, like meta tags. So, keeping them consistent with your keywords just makes the on-page SEO for your blog a bit stronger.

Hi Kathleen ~ Ouch! I’ve been doing just about all of these things. But I’m definitely not up to snuff (loved your post about old sayings!) with #3. My categories aren’t keyword phrases – they’re pretty generic. I’ll have to ponder this one.

Caleb – Thanks for stopping by. SEO is one of those things where you need to do everything right. I agree that backlinking is the most important thing to do on an ongong basis – just be sure you’re linking back to a well-optimized blog!
