Here’s an interesting blog post at Active Rain from Sergio DeCesare who markets Naples FL real estate.

I think he brings up some very good points.  If you decide to go after the short sale niche, what are you going to do to prepare yourself?  Just jumping in really doesn’t work very well.  There are classes you can take and designations that you can earn to learn about the process and how to handle a short sale effectively.  There’s the Certified Short-Sale Specialist, Certified Short-Sale Professional, and a variety of other training classes on the subject.  And, as many of the comments on Sergio’s blog mention, working with an experienced short sale agent after the book-learning can make a big difference.

If you’re going to do short sales, getting prepared first will undoubtedly help you sleep at night!
