Kim - This is a crazy situation. I'm running XP and thought it was safe, so I upgraded to the latest version of Flash 10.

Now, I'm finding flash I can't see either. The websites display a message saying that I need Flash 9 or higher to view their site, and they provide a link to download the latest version of Flash, which is Flash 10.0.22.87. . . which is what I have on my system.

Again, I WISH Adobe would get their act together!

Good luck with your issues. :-)

I just bought two new Dell Studio laptops both running 64 bit one for myself and one for my daughter. I haven't had any problems with Adobe Flash, but she does. I am now searching for information on how to help her because she can't view any videos on her computer. These computers are exactly the same so it doesn't make much sense. I am hoping either the Flash players has been updated or I will advise her to download the 9 version and see if that works. There is a problem this I know! Thanks for the info!

Adam,

Thanks for taking time to post your information. I hadn't talked to anyone using Firefox. If Flash 10 doesn't work at all with Firefox, that's just making the problem worse. Wonder if Adobe will come out with a Flash 10 that is compatible with 64 bit and Firefox. Ought to be interesting.

Hope version 9 works well for you!

Thanks for the post Kathleen.
For info I'm running VistaHP64 & Firefox 3 and Flash 10 just doesn't work - currently d/l Flash 9. Mind you, it would appear Flash & Firefox have never been good friends anyway.

Tracy,

Glad the post was helpful. As far as I know, using Flash 9 is the only option that really works without problems.

We'll just have to wait and see if Adobe really does publish the 64-bit Flash 10.

If anyone finds a better alternative, I hope you'll post the solution in a comment here. There are still a lot of people finding this post based on doing searches for a solution.

I am so glad I came across your site. I just purchased a new Dell with 64 bit operating system and have had nothing but issues trying to do anything on it. I'm assuming by following the steps the Flash 9 is the way to go? (I'm not the most computer savy person). thanks
