Photos Sell Houses
· CommentsIf you’ve been wondering whether hiring a photographer to take pictures of your real estate listings was worth the cost, here’s more information on how important photos are!
The California Association of REALTORS® finds that Internet visitors rate multiple photographs and slide shows highest among desired features.- Point2 Agent discovered interesting facts during a 30 day study of home listings: those listings with over 20 photos received 15 times more views and 10 times more leads than listings that had less than 20.
- MLS associations are moving in the direction of requiring photos before a listing can go live.

That’s interesting…I’ve never thought about hiring a company to do this for me. Maybe when the market picks up some we can look into doing this. This would also be a great idea for someone who lacks the computer skills to download pictures.

Hi Landflip – Not sure this applies to land – I think the only lighting issue there is to make sure it’s not night or raining.
Thanks for stopping by and participating!

The MLS Board in our area will fine agents if photos are not uploaded within a certain time period. I think it is 2-3 days.
It seems pretty sad that an agent wouldn’t just automatically post photos with the listing.
Even if the house is a fixer, the potential buyers would want to know at least what style the home is. Or, in the case of land, an idea of the setting where the site is located.

Hi Nickie,
So, your board is one of those who are “encouraging” photos. Interesting.
I don’t understand why the sellers don’t raise a fuss, too. If I were selling, I’d insist on a fair (maybe even exceptional) chance for my property to be seen.
