Point2 Agent Real Estate Websites and IDX
· Comments
On April 26, Point2 Agent announced that it will be offering an integrated IDX solution in the coming weeks. The current projection is for a rollout in the third quarter of 2010.
If you have a Point2 website, or are considering one, this is very good news. For one thing, since the IDX will be integrated, any leads generated from visitors signing up on the search will go right into the Point2 Agent prospect database. As you may know, the lack of integration in real estate marketing tools is a pet peeve of mine.
Another part of the good news is that Point2 is partnering with Wolfnet for this offering. Wolfnet is one of the premier third-party IDX vendors. And, they have one of the largest coverage areas. If you want to know if your MLS is covered by Wolfnet, visit the Wolfnet website. There’s a list on the left side of the home page to help you out.
Up until now, in my humble opinion, getting a truly full-featured real estate IDX search integrated into a real estate website has been difficult. Vendors that had strong websites had poorly devised IDX search capabilities. And, vendors that had a strong IDX solution had poorly devised websites.
The Point2 Agent announcement will bring two great products together in one package. And, Point2 members will be able to acquire the Wolfnet search at a “highly competitive price” [read: less than going to Wolfnet as an individual]. I’m really looking forward to seeing it.

I have used Wolfnet for several years and really like the IDX feature. I’m very interested to see the price they will come in with.

I agree that it’s a good marriage, Sam. And I can’t wait to see the pricing, either.
I doubt it will be as good as the Keller Williams’ deal. But especially the way the market is now, it should be a big advantage for a lot of agents who don’t have full-featured searches because it just doesn’t fit into the budget.

I am anxious to see this option too. I’m not real happy with my current IDX provider.
