Sam - When I started this blog, I decided it would be an information resource, not a soapbox for my opinions - although I'd probably get more comments if I were a bit more controversial!

Having lived through the Vietnam era, and knowing soldiers who served there, I know what it's like when Americans blame the individuals in the military for our government's policies.

So, I've always made an exception to the soapbox rule when it comes to supporting our troops. Our country has grown to the point now where we can separate the individuals from the policy, and I feel very strongly that we all need to reinforce that feeling.

I'm sure you're very proud of the contribution your family has made to the military. And, thanks for the link to the video. Your brothers are also very talented musicians!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Kathleen - I'm thrilled to see you thinking of our men and women in uniform. My dad was career USAF, my sister was a USAF pilot before getting out to have kids and her husband is still in as a BG. If you want to see a very cool video honoring our fallen troops, visit http://youtube.com/watch?v=hpAt7plTpWI. The song is performed by two of my brothers.
