I only ran out of gas once myself, and I was lucky like you and coasted right up to the pump. The only thing was I had a U-Haul hooked up to the back of my little red sedan with everything we owned in it driving from East Hampton, NY to Los Angeles,CA; kids and dog smiling in the back seat. In the middle of the desert I realized that towing a trailer sucked up far more gas than I expected and I wasn't going to make it to my usual gas stops. Thank goodness for Ludlow CA! I’m with you Kathleen, better safe than sorry!

I only ran out of gas once myself, and I was lucky like you and coasted right up to the pump.
