Real Estate Results Newsletter
April, 2006

Welcome to the April edition of the Newsletter. In this month’s Newsletter:

Increase Your Real Estate Brochure Library - for Just a Quarter a Piece

It’s not often you can acquire professionally-designed real estate sales literature for about 25 cents each. But, you can now, if you take advantage of NAR’s sale on three relevant marketing pieces. For NAR members, the cost for the It Pays to Work with a REALTOR® brochure is $45 for 200. The other two brochures are $50 for 200.

The NAR offer is good through 5:00pm Central Time on May 12, 2006

And, if you or your clients have a fixer-upper, but you don’t know where to start, you might be interested in the 2005 Cost vs. Value Report from NAR. REALTOR® Magazine and Remodeling magazine worked together for the 7th year to produce the latest report. The 2005 report includes more project types than last year’s report, and it identifies what you can recoup at resale for various types of home improvement projects. At $6.50 each, you can’t go wrong.

Using the Road Less Traveled to Promote Your Business

Megaphone-Crpd-150-wUndoubtedly, all of your competitors are advertising to promote themselves. A quick look at the Sunday paper shows how easy it is for your business to get lost in the Real Estate section. For promoting your business, public relations, using free or inexpensive publicity, will set you apart from the crowd.

How difficult is it to get free publicity? Well, it takes some work, but you might find it easier to get press releases published than you think. First, you need relationships with local media folks. If you think about it, you may find that some of the media people are in your sphere of influence. Or, you may have common ground with them through local organizations such as your Chamber of Commerce.

The second issue is that you need to have something newsworthy to say. My experience in working with real estate professionals is this: you know quite a bit that the non-professional does not know. You just need to figure out how to use that knowledge.

For example, what if you spent $6.50 to obtain the 2005 Cost vs Value Report, then wrote an article about it? The report itself is copyrighted, of course, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t use the information to write a newsworthy press release announcing the report’s publication, and sharing some advice about the most cost-effective home improvements.

For more information about using public relations, review this article from Broker-Agent News.
