Welcome to the June edition of the Real Estate Results Newsletter. In this month’s newsletter:
How Your Voicemail Manners are Frustrating Your Callers
I saw this article and wasn’t very interested in reading it. I thought my outgoing voicemail message was pretty good. Short, to the point, but welcoming.
Then, I started reading the article and ended up laughing out loud. Each of the five annoying phrases described in the article are truly annoying, once you think about it. And, my outgoing message hit all five!!
I could also relate to the information about leaving a message. I get a lot of voice mail messages, and one thing that has always puzzled me is that people will speak at a normal pace while they are leaving a message. Then, when it comes time to leave a telephone number, they shift into overdrive and the phone number comes out in three syllables rather than ten!
Needless to say, I’ve changed my outgoing voicemail message. Read the article. You may end up doing the same.

How Agent and Broker Brands Work Together
The question of whether real estate agents should define their own brand and logo comes up in many discussions I have with real estate professionals.
However, brokers and agents are sometimes unsure about how to make their individual brands work together. The facts are these: 1) Broker brands aren’t really enough to differentiate agents in this increasingly competitive industry, and, 2) agent brands don’t need to dilute the broker brand.
Finding an effective way to have both brands coexist is a key issue. This short article provides some real-life examples that clearly define how agent and broker brands work together.

Ten Steps for Becoming a Neighborhood Expert
Have you defined a niche market for your business? If not, now may be the time. Becoming a neighborhood expert is one way to establish yourself as the “go to” real estate expert for an entire geographic area.
This article was written by the Executive Vice President of Connecting Neighbors, and does an excellent job of identifying 10 very specific things you can do to firmly establish yourself as a neighborhood expert. And, his ideas are actually doable, and they don’t all relate to establishing a neighborhood website.
We are not currently recommending a particular community website vendor. But, if you are thinking of researching the topic, here are three vendors for your consideration: www.ConnectingNeighbors.com, www.NonStopNeighbors.com, and a unique offering from www.BloggingSystems.com.
Until next month...
