Real Estate Results Newsletter MARCH-MAY, 2007
Welcome to the March-May edition of the Real Estate Results Newsletter. We’ve been extremely busy over the last two months, and unfortunately, the newsletter has suffered. However, with additional help onboard, we’ve geared up to handle the workload more effectively.
At this point, the majority of our work is focused on customizing real estate websites, and addressing branding issues. As you’re probably aware, many real estate professionals are realigning their marketing budgets to focus on their Internet presence and marketing.
Buyers and sellers are using the Internet more than any other medium to research their next move. Many agents and brokers are finding that establishing an effective Internet presence is often the only type of major advertising they need to do. A well-designed, content-rich site that is set up to be search engine friendly is the first step in establishing your web presence.
If you’ve never seen the type of website customization we do, I thought I’d just let you know what has been keeping us running. Both these sites are designed to rank well in the search results, given the implementation of an off-page SEO strategy. Fairfax Real Estate, Chicago Real Estate.
Now, back to the Newsletter. This issue is all about getting leads and turning them into clients:

People Work with People They Like - How Likable are You?
Is that a silly question? Can you change how likable you are? Well, the answer is yes, you can. Some people just naturally attract other people. You’ve undoubtedly met a number of truly charismatic people in your life.
But, if you’re not one of those lucky people, take heart. Being likable is a skill, and you can nuture it just as easily as you can your negotiating skills, for example. Learn more about these 7 areas you can manage to become more likable.
My most effective tip? Hang a mirror beside your telephone. Look at yourself as you’re using the telephone, especially when you’re talking to a prospect. People can hear the “smile in your voice” when you’re on the telephone. But, with no feedback, many of us tend to be introverted, or to do 6 other things while we’re on the telephone. How likable are we in that situation? Well, you know.
Imagine that your reflection in the mirror is the person you’re talking to. Use the same type of emotion and expression when you’re on the telephone as you would in person. That will translate into your voice when you’re on the phone. After a while, all you’ll need to do is listen to that little voice in your head that says “Smile!”.
Try it out on a friend if it seems silly. Start a conversation with a serious face, then smile - even if the topic isn’t something worth the grin. I’ll wager your friend will be able to tell you almost exactly when the smile came into play!
Until next month...
