Converting Internet Leads: How to Cater to Real Estate Internet Visitors
Marketing on the Internet is different than other types of marketing. And, marketing to real estate prospects is different than marketing to other types of Internet surfers. First, make sure your website sets the right tone for your visitors.
Then, make sure you’re responding to visitors who contact you in the most effective way. I’ve gotten a lot of feedback from agents who say that contacting their website leads as quickly as possible has produced great results. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that because your visitors filled out a contact form rather than calling you directly, they don’t want to hear from you.
But, your response to a visitor who completed a contact form should be different than other types of traditional marketing. If the prospect left a valid telephone number, should you call them? Many people have success taking that direct approach. Here are some tips for approaching Internet leads that can be applied to e-mail or telephone contact.

Website WOW! Factor
We all know that it’s critical to capture an Internet visitor’s attention quickly. And, many people I talk to say that when they get in front of prospects, turning them into clients is an easy task. There’s a new tool for your website that will help you capture attention quickly, and give you a bit more of a chance to get in front of your prospects. It will also set your website far above your competition in terms of the WOW! factor.
Video messages can be an effective way to “talk” to your Internet visitors. And, traditional video player presentations are great for providing many different types of information. But, I’ve come across two companies who are providing a dramatic new way to greet your visitors.
The videos provided by these firms let your video appear on top of your website - there is no visible video player. In effect, it looks a bit like magic. You just appear out of thin air. To learn more, visit OverWeb3D and The Real Estate Home Show websites. Each company’s pricing and approach is different, and each provides the option of using a professional if you’re a little camera-shy. The cost is not trivial, but it is reasonable for a lot of professionals in the industry.
If you use this type of technology, make sure you have a concise, targeted message. And, look at the examples on the OverWeb3D site - you’ll find great examples of how one of these messages should be done, and other examples that will point out exactly what not to do!
Until next month...
